The White House in 1848 Enamel Box

The hand-painted White House scenes on this enamel box provide a small glimpse into a larger story. The outside of the box features a view of the White House from Lafayette Park in 1848 during the presidency of James K. Polk. The inside is the Green Room as decorated today in the Federal style. Enamel with 24kt gold clasp.
