Title: President Cleveland's Office

Description: President Cleveland used the Resolute desk, given to President Hayes by Queen Victoria, in his office in the second-floor oval room. President and Mrs. Cleveland lived in a private residence in Washington, nicknamed Red Top, and viewed the White House as primarily a place of work. In the social season, however, they lived in the White House.
