graphic detail

Title: Pantry, Truman Administration

Description: There were two goals of the Truman renovation. The first was to stabilize the White House, and the second was to create more rooms in the existing space. The President’s House expanded from 65 to 132 rooms, with more storage space than ever before. The pantry on the State Floor pictured here was filled with cabinets for just that purpose.
